What it does
GC AI is a legal AI platform that General Counsel AI, Inc. sells to in-house lawyers for reviewing contracts and researching the legal questions they raise, in a web app or a Word add-in.
Reviews can run against playbooks, the positions your company takes on each kind of agreement. GC AI's Playbooks page says you can start from its prebuilt playbooks or your own.
Clicking a citation opens the source document with the exact quote highlighted, GC AI says. I'd check that first in a trial, since a finding you can't trace to its clause has to be redone by hand.
GC AI says you can ask for redlines in the Word add-in or, since July 2026, in Easy Edit, an editor inside the web app.
The pricing page lists Contract Intelligence, the vendor's tool for questions across a whole contract library, under the Team plan, not the Individual seat.
Who it fits
GC AI fits a company with its own lawyer, whether that's a solo or fractional general counsel or a full legal department.
The FAQ on GC AI's home page says it suits generalist in-house lawyers. It adds, "If your practice is specialized, other platforms may be better".
The security page says GC AI "does not provide legal advice", and the terms say its output is no substitute for a licensed attorney's judgment. Without a lawyer to make that call, I'd pass on it, because the contract review job needs findings that whoever reads them can act on.
Limitations
Slashdot, the one review site I could read, listed no user reviews of GC AI in October 2026, which is thin evidence for a company that calls itself trusted by 2,100+ legal teams. GC AI says its Word add-in has five-star reviews on Microsoft AppSource, but that listing wouldn't load for me, so I can't confirm it.
In its Easy Edit post, GC AI says it can read a scanned agreement and answer questions about it in chat, but a redline needs the Word version. None of the pages I read say how it reads scans, or how accurately.
The pricing page lists US case law and international law as add-ons to the Individual seat with no price shown, so ask for both prices before you compare it with anything else.
All payments are non-refundable and all commitments non-cancellable under GC AI's terms, which also renew subscriptions automatically unless you cancel in writing before the term ends, and let GC AI raise fees at renewal. I'd run the 14-day trial on a few of your own signed contracts, and write down the numbers it has to hit before you pay.
The terms also bar giving it personally identifiable health data, payment card industry data, classified information or data covered by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. They let GC AI use de-identified data to improve its services, including through industry benchmarks and "aggregated insights regarding market terms and contract positions".
GC AI keeps zero-data-retention agreements with its LLM providers "wherever feasible", its security page says. I found no data residency option.
