What it does
SaneBox sorts your incoming mail by importance and moves what can wait out of your inbox, according to its FAQ. It works on the mail account you already have, so you keep your current email app.
Its FAQ says it learns from your habits (which emails you open, which you answer and how quickly) and judges each new message from its headers, not its body. Mail it rates unimportant goes to a folder called SaneLater on your mail server, and the SaneBox tour describes a SaneNews folder that holds newsletters.
The Daily Digest lists the mail SaneBox filtered into folders such as SaneLater and SaneNews. From the digest, the help centre says, you can send a message back to the inbox, train how its sender is handled, or archive it.
Moving an email between folders in your mail app trains SaneBox as well, and the FAQ says it won't make that mistake again. A Trainings page in the dashboard lists past trainings for editing.
SaneBox's tour describes SaneBlackHole, which keeps a sender's future mail out of your inbox. In the help centre, snooze folders bring a message back on a later date, and SaneNoReplies collects sent emails that haven't had a reply.
SaneBox's blog announced an AI Bundle on October 26, 2026, included with the Dinner plan. The help centre says SaneDrafts writes suggested replies into your Drafts folder and never sends one automatically, and Digest Plus adds a brief summary to messages in the digest.
Who it fits
SaneBox fits a person whose inbox mixes mail from people with newsletters and other mail that can wait. Its homepage names Gmail, Microsoft 365, Apple iCloud, Yahoo Mail and Fastmail, plus any IMAP, Exchange or ActiveSync server.
Plans differ in how many email accounts they cover: one on Snack, two on Lunch and four on Dinner. In November 2026, SaneBox's pricing page listed Snack at $2.42 a month paid annually or $3.49 paid monthly, and Dinner at $11.58 a month paid annually or $16.99 paid monthly.
Each person connects their own mailbox. For a team, SaneBox for Business starts with a contact form, not a price list, and its page lists admin controls, company-wide rules, and Active Directory and Salesforce integrations. The form's choices for the number of users stop at 100.
By default, the FAQ says, email from real people stays in the inbox. I'd shortlist SaneBox if one person's inbox is the bottleneck and the mail that needs them mostly comes from people. If the mail lands in a shared inbox that a team has to split, compare the other email triage agents, or see how I'd scope ticket triage and routing for a support team.
Limitations
SaneBox's terms say it isn't a spam filter or virus scanner, and that it isn't responsible for the consequences of a delay before you see a message it moved.
On Snack, the pricing table lists SaneLater, the folder unimportant mail moves to, among the 11 features you pick two from. Dinner is the only plan with the AI Bundle and phone support. Of Trustpilot's 20 newest reviews, read in November 2026, the one at two stars complained of no phone support "unless you buy the premium level".
If you train an email into SaneBlackHole by mistake, the terms say mail of that type is filed in Trash automatically, and SaneBox takes no responsibility for the result.
At signup, SaneBox asks for access to your contacts and permission to read, write, send and delete email.
Its privacy policy, last modified October 28, 2026, says the AI features may process email bodies, which it calls a change from reading headers only. The same policy also says email bodies are "never downloaded or accessed" by its systems.
SaneBox's security page links a Google-required CASA assessment letter issued April 22, 2025, with an expiration date of April 23, 2026. When I read the page in November 2026, it linked no newer letter. I found no SOC 2 claim, sub-processor list or public data processing addendum on the SaneBox pages I read.
SaneBox's pricing page offers a 7-day free trial, while its AI Bundle help article and launch post offer 14 days for the AI features.
