- Lucky Orange says it stores data on Google Cloud in the US unless a custom plan says otherwise, encrypted at rest, keystrokes masked. Its June 2026 DPA promises breach notice within 72 hours and deletion within 90 days of the service ending; OpenAI is a subprocessor. What it does
Lucky Orange records what shoppers do on your Shopify store, and its Discovery AI add-on reads that record to point out what may have kept them from buying, per its help centre.
Installed from the Shopify App Store, it maps your add-to-cart, checkout and purchase steps as a funnel from day one, the vendor says. For every Shopify store it also tracks checkout events, from checkout started to ordered.
Discovery answers plain-language questions about that data. Its preset Quick Actions include Conversion Blockers, Bounced Session Analysis, and two for Shopify stores only: Most Abandoned Items, and Cart Abandonment Factors, which looks for what shoppers who abandon their carts have in common.
Since April 2026, according to its changelog, Discovery's page audits read a page's content and suggest what to change; the button audit, for example, checks where your buttons sit relative to how far visitors scroll.
Lucky Orange says Discovery shows you "what to fix first", and that its answers link to the heatmaps, funnels and recordings behind them. Its Visualize workspace, released in October 2026, draws charts beside the written answer, and the help centre says a performance summary may include a ranked list.
Shopify merchants with the add-on can also ask Shopify Sidekick about this data through a Lucky Orange app extension, which shipped in August 2026.
Who it fits
Lucky Orange fits Shopify stores that want to find where shoppers drop off before paying an analyst to look, from a store on the free plan to one on Scale, which starts at 300,000 sessions a month.
Its plans page lists a free plan for 100 sessions a month, then Launch at $19, Build at $39 and Grow at $89 a month paid monthly in November 2026. Discovery isn't available on the free plan. Its Shopify App Store listing prices Discovery at $5, $10 or $20 a month on Launch, Build and Grow, so on Shopify, Build with Discovery comes to $49 a month on monthly billing.
If your security review wants the vendor's own SOC 2 report, a Lucky Orange help article last updated in 2021 says the company relies on Google Cloud's and AWS's instead.
I'd shortlist it if your store gets a few thousand sessions a month and nobody has time to watch recordings. Compare it with the other Shopify conversion audit tools, and read where an e-commerce app is enough and where a custom agent wins before you build anything.
Limitations
Lucky Orange's own pages disagree on whether Discovery AI costs extra. The plan table and the help centre call it an add-on for an extra fee on paid plans, while the FAQ on the Discovery page says it's included in plans. Off Shopify, the pricing pages don't list its price; the help centre points you to your account's Plan & Billing page.
Discovery comes with 1,000 queries a month shared across your account. It answers questions about data inside your plan's storage window, which is 30 days on Launch and 60 days on Build and up unless you buy more storage.
Unless you're on Shopify Plus, recordings show a blank screen while a shopper is in checkout, and the checkout page is left out of heatmaps and form analytics. Lucky Orange still tracks checkout events there, and its help centre puts the gap down to Shopify's privacy restrictions.
Discovery suggests fixes. None of the help articles I read describes it editing a page or running a test, and for A/B tests Lucky Orange integrates with Optimizely. The help centre also says Discovery can't yet summarize a single session recording.
Keep Me Tracking is on by default and moves you to the next plan when your sessions run out. Two of the 30 newest Shopify reviews, both one-star and from late October 2026, complain about upgrades they didn't expect, and the terms say fees are non-refundable. I'd check that setting in Plan & Billing on day one.
The terms warn that Discovery's outputs may not always be accurate, and that its queries may be processed by a third-party AI provider. OpenAI is on Lucky Orange's subprocessor list for generative AI.
Independent evidence on the AI itself is thin. Two of the 150 newest Shopify reviews mention it. The 7-day trial includes Discovery, so I'd pin a conversion target before you commit and test it against your own store in that week.
